Captain of British Fashion Retail ‘George’ visits Southport
George Davies, who famously gave the high street Next and Marks & Spencer's Per Una, visited Southport today.
He flew by private helicopter from RAF Woodvale to Sheffield this morning (Thursday 1st October 2009) after staying overnight at Southport’s most prestigious hotel ‘The Vincent’.
Mr Davies has family connections in Southport but lives in the Cotswolds.
He has plans to open 25 stores stocking his latest clothing label, GIVe.
GIVe, the use of the Roman numeral in the name being a tongue-in-cheek reference to it being his fourth such enterprise and to its charitable intentions. The small 'e' being a reference to e-commerce.
His other success being George at Asda, launched in the 1990s. |
